Abstract

The Future of Tourism:

Stress Tests for the Tourism System Bridges and buildings are subject to stress tests. Banks most recently have had to pass more stringent stress tests in terms of

  • Liquidity
  • Asset Risk
  • Asset types Why – because we were minutes away from a complete meltdown of some parts of the global banking system in 2007.

So the question arises: What stresses threaten the tourism system? In this presentation Professor Tribe will consider 13 key areas of potential stress for the tourism system and from these consider 3 major threats and 3 major opportunities for the future of tourism.
